Quatre Mains

Quatre Mains is a theatre piece for four hands.

Andrew Dawson and Jozef Houben tell touching and funny stories with their hands. This is a dance for hands, from hands that meet across a cafe table to geometric figures, Quatre Mains is an evocative visual poem of finely tuned movement and gesture. Without vocal language, but with a rich and diverse soundtrack ranging from Britten to The Jazz Passengers, this unique visual poem explores not only what hands are but also what hands can evoke.

Quatre mains has toured to 'Viva Cite', Rouen, Amsterdam, Kasparov Kolinsky Memorial Festival in Kolin, Czech Republic, Leipzig, Dresden, Berlin. Paris and the Lyric Studio Hammersmith, London

Quatre Mains

"So-simple-it's-brilliant strokes of genius. The title was entirely accurate: the performers were not Dawson and Houben, but their four hands, on a raked tabletop."
"Performance stripped down to ultimate simplicity, and continuing to generate strong, direct emotions and laughter in a breathtaking intimacy."
